Arsenal edge Chelsea to strengthen grip on Premier League summit
Arsenal claimed a crucial 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Emirates Stadium in Round 28 of the Premier League.
The win takes Arsenal to 64 points at the top of the table, five clear of Manchester City, although having played one game more. Chelsea remain sixth with 45 points.
William Saliba opened the scoring in the 21st minute following a corner situation. Chelsea equalized in first-half stoppage time through an own goal by Piero Hincapié after a Reece James delivery.
Jurrien Timber restored Arsenal’s lead in the 66th minute from a Declan Rice corner. Chelsea were reduced to ten men after Neto received his second yellow card in the 70th minute.
A late Chelsea goal was ruled out for offside, sealing an important victory for Arsenal.
